STRIVE FOR THE BEST!
The greastest father!
Friday, 6 November 2009 15:38

I have the greatest father ever.

I remember when I was young, I was a extremely stuborn children and also playful who never like to learn. My father, however, always hope that I will study everyday and become great person one day. Despite me being lazy in my study, my father did not force me into study as he also felt that we should enjoy our child hood as much as possible. As a child, I love to play so much that my requests for new toys were endless, but my father always tried to please me even when he was not fiance well-off. He never fail to send me to school and also pick me up from school till and even when I was in Polytechnic. He love to eat fish, however when we where together in the table, he don't eat fish as he know that we (my brother and me) love to eat fish. He also accepted all the childishness from us.

Now I am in UK for my further study, all thanks to my lovely father who send here despite that I failed to do well in my Diploma. He always have the trust and high hope on me, and also inspired me to be a better person. The positive values he showed us are now casted in me as his shadow.

Sometimes I just wondered, why would a person dedicate himself so much on to one other. I can said that my father really have given everything to us. His time are mainly scheduled according to our plans and so his is money spent. Is it because we are a family and this is what we call love? The love that give without the mean of anything back?

My father was rather a simple man. He just need to have rice and soya sause for a meal, or bread with butter and a cup of coffee. He enjoys nothing but bowling and taking care of us. Maybe if a bit more then it will be gardening.

I am really fortunate to be borned as his son and I promised myself to distinguish in my study over here and will become somebody to continue what he have been dreaming to do. People don't have to be jealous, you have a father like me in different way. Find out yourself!

Half-term Break
Tuesday, 3 November 2009 00:12

The story started on the 30 of October while we rented a car and engaged ourselves for an amazing 4 days tour around UK. Pictures will not be upload here, please refer to my facebook account.

So on the first day, I had Andy, our dedicated driver, Hannah, Fu Yu and DucAn, along with me for the exciting tour. We met at 10pm and headed off to Witney, a town located at the north-east of Oxford. It was also the place where Ms Penny, my English teacher, recommended me to visit. Witney was crowded with people when we reached and fining a car park was a difficult task. Furthermore, most of the parking here are parallel parking and most of them are also meant for handicapped personnel making hunting for a parking lot a challenge to us. Eventually we got a slot, actually it was a illegal parking and went to walk around the town. Guess what, we met our teacher, Ms Penny, and she joined us for lunch and brought us around her home town.

Initially it was planned to go a place name Whitehorse, which is a ridge area and there is a figure of a horse on one of the hill. It has been there for more than thousand years and it was made by pulling the grass and showing the limestone beneath it into a shape of a horse. However, due to staying too long in Witney, I decided to go and head on to our next destination which is the Broadway Tower Park located at a town name Broadway. We took a slight detour before reaching. It was a fantastic place to be. On top of a hill, and a tower that stand alone on the top of the hill.

After which, we went to Chipping Norton, which was built by some elites in UK. It was actually quite late by then and most shops were closed. By the way, when I say late, it means around 4pm to 5pm cause it is going to be winter soon and night come earlier around 5pm while most of the shop were close by then. Hence, we went down to take some picture, shop around with those shops that were still open and went back to Oxford for dinner.

We had our dinner in an Indian restaurant at Summertown with Aiki joining us. The curry was not like what I had expected and those curry make me miss Singapore more. The day ends with the dinner and I went home to prepare myself for the next 3 days which I will be staying out.

Next day was a fine sunny day. GREAT! Weather has always been on my side so far. In the morning, I started with meeting Andy and Hannah at Headington Subway for breakfast. Got myself a coffee and cookie and headed to Blenhaim Palace. At the entrance, the price for admission fee caught to our attention. It was 14 pound per person to get inside, but anyway we still pay the amount and went in. After finding a place for the car, we saw how much the 14 pound is worth. It worth every penny when you get to see the place, furthermore you get to extend the ticket to 12 months for free. The museum was great with a lot of nice visuals and so is the lay out of the palace. In additional, the garden found across the few hectare and the river running through the place. Due to the time we had for the morning, we had to leave the place without fully exploring it. However, thanks to the promotion that made us all to have a 12 months pass, we will visit there again.

What happened next was we sent Hannah back home, disappointed that she cannot come along. Anyway, we went to pick up Fu Yu, Ivy and Kevin up for the 3 days overnight tour with Halloween. Fu Yu came with a classy luggage red in colour. First stop, we headed to Uffington, White Horse which we missed out the day before. We found the place with out any difficulty and the place is brilliant. One has to visit there at least once. You will find yourself on the hill looking down at farms, towns, and even wind mill.

I am tired of writing of what I do through the tour. I guess I will leave the rest of the story be told by the pictures I upload on facebook. Here I will write basically where I had been to for that 3 days.

So after the White Horse, we went to Salisbury, which our accommodation was located. Then went to look around Salisbury whilst finding ourselves dinner. The hostel also proved to be worth it as the service provide is considerably good and also the breakfast was great!

Next day, went back to Salisbury, got ourselves to Cathedral Church and also shop a bit around Salisbury. Salisbury is a place where pretty will un-value it. Then we went to Stonehenge, Old Sarum where the Mary's sheep is found, and then Portsmouth. It took us a while to get to Old Sarum as we were led to a wrong place by the Gps. We also went to New Forest for a sumptuous meal. It will be more fun if we have more daylight but night fell in too soon and we headed back to Salisbury. Fu Yu brought some make-up and a witch hat, hence all of us have a make-up on and went out on street to walk around. I just did a eye liner where as my friend Andy did eye liner and also Pikachu face.

The last day did not start brightly. Rain poured down and wind made tree swing so hard that it seems like breaking off in any moment. We had our breakfast and check out of the hostel. The next destination is Bath. Found the place with no problem, however it is only the parking that give us a problem. Subsequently, we were lucky to find a car park which is located near the city center. Beautiful place built by Roman. Went to have lunch in Sally Lunn, a name to remember when you are going to Bath. Stuck in Roman Bath for more than 2 hours with audio guide. Taste the spa water and found it was disguising to be drinking one. Lastly went back to Oxford. The time taken to travel from Bath to Oxford is an hour and half, the longest car trip we have continuously.

So that mark the end of the lovely trip. Sorry for being lazy.

Report of the past days!
Thursday, 22 October 2009 12:23

If you notice, the above picture is part of the scene in Harry Potter!

Hello people! I know I had been inactive for the pass few days if you had been noticing my blog. Anyway last few days had been pretty monotonous except very much for my last Sunday which i went to London!!

Oh! Okay, on my birthday, it was also bitterly boring as I had a bad stomach upset. Who to blame? HAHA! Maybe only myself for not taking enough fruits for the past weeks in UK. I also like to thanks all my lovely friends who remember my birthday and had wished me. Thank you so much!

Okay, back to the topic!! London London! Went to quite a lot of places, probably the highlights were Arsenal Stadium and London Chinatown. I also been to Oxford Street in London, and not forgetting my favourite part of London, Westminster. Least to mention, I also went to Liverpool Street which someone told me Chinatown is there! BASH THAT IDIOTIC TOUR GUIDE! It is in Leicester Square anyway for people who might like to know where is it!

Arsenal stadium was my first stop of the whole trip in the early morning cause there was not any shop open in that point of time. So yes! Arsenal stadium is magnificent but I did not went into the stadium. I shall save it for another day when I will be walking in for a match! Can't wait for that day to come!

Next someone wanted her Iphone so badly, hence headed down back to Oxford Circus Apple Store. When we reached, the shop was not operating yet. However, there were dozens of hungry people outside the shop waiting for it to start business. Gosh! If you look into any of their eyes, you can see the Apple's logo in it! There were a few people ahead of us in the queue and it did not take up quite long for her to get a Iphone. Excited, next thing, used it! Shop a bit on Oxford Street where I got myself a sweater and track pants. Weather has been getting more and more cruel to me and I have to get myself equip for the battle against it!

Follow by, we decided to go Chinatown! So believing in what I heard from the previous tour I had to London, Chinatown is in Liverpool Street! Ended up empty hand but not empty stomach. Had a meal over there, an Italian Restaurant. It serve good lookin pizza, should try it some day. The shop name is Pizza Express if I didn't remember wrongly. I said it look good cause I did not try its pizza and had a Lasagana instead. Ironic huh!?

Meanwhile, we asked someone the location of Chinatown and headed toward it. Yes, Chinatown is filled with temptation that will make you broke! Everything is so expensive. But nevertheless, I bought some food there and enjoy them quite well. Really miss Singapore's food. Oh! There's one shop selling Singapore cruise but did not realy as we already quite filled with the previous meal and more important empty in the wallet. :)

Some walking here and there and got back to Oxford. Return to the same routine after then.

Cheers!

something special happened!

12 of October was a day that I marked my archievement of finishing my very first romance story book. It was the book name "Sundays at Tiffany's" that I completed! Cheers people!

The author James Patterson is really some writer. He expanded a short story so well with many nice description. The story line was actually a very easy set up but I don't really find it too long nor too boring to read it. I just kept reading and wanted to know what's going to happen!

Okay, a quick summary on the book. The story started with 2 main characters, Jane and Micheal. Micheal was a illusion childhood friend of Jane's. In the story, it interestingly stated that every kid have a illusion childhood friend and they will leave when the child is 8 year-old and the child will forget everything about the childhood friend. However, in this exceptational rare case of Jane, she did not forget about Micheal and grew up till she was 32. She worked for her mother in a film-making company and she initiated a movie name "I can't remember" which was about the experiences with her childhood friend, Micheal. She also had a bastard boyfriend name Grant who was an actor. He is a hypocrite and subsquently broke Jane's fragile little heart.

Micheal came back to New York, where Jane lived in, with a task that he himself also did not know what was it. Anyway he got in love with Jane again and Jane's mother die tragedy and Micheal realise that his mission was to care about Jane once more. Eventually, Micheal turned into human and lived happily ever after with Jane!

Haha! I guess that is how every story suppose to end so not to have any critics. Anyway, I feel that it is really a book worth reading for leisure. This few days were dieingly monotonous. Lesson after lesson and hours after hours.

Great Worst day
Sunday, 11 October 2009 10:26

On the street of Oxford! Cool huh!?
View outside my room.

The pitch i played in! it's "raining heavily"!

Gosh!! Been sick for the past days! Finally recovered from it, and i realised that the medicine here don't work on me. After taking the medicine, I could use up a roll of tissue in 6 hours by sneezing till my nose to be as red as YinXi. So it had been quite a bad period of days.

Eventually I felt better and went to play football despite still having a bit of coughing and sneezing. I didn't care about that, simply because football is my life!! yeah! Actually today was not a good day for football either as it was raining. Nevertheless, I made my way to the pitch with my old friend Andy after grabbing three Subway cookies for 1 pound. That's consider very cheap in the town as all the food here are actually quite expensive. By the way, so far I find Subway is the best place to settle on a meal, cheap and nice! FOREVER SUBWAY! Same as what I will say when I was in Singapore.

When we reached the field, there wasn't a crowd of players who came to play. There was only around 8 players and we pinned our hope on them getting late. True enough, a lot more came and it made us 2 teams of 9 players each. I would not describle the game here, but the more important point I wanted to make was I scored a goal and played so much better than last week. I think I can adpat to the climate here already, or maybe it the rain. Oh! Also anything that was interesting, I managed to make a slide for about 2 meter long. HAHA! The slippery ground allowed that. Such a fun I had playing in slippery ground with some laughter when some people slipped.

After the game, me andy ivy and her brother went to a Subway nearby. Yea people! SUBWAY again! Actually we intended to go Rice Box, but they claimed that they have minimal purchase of 4 pound per person that upset all of us. I just want a cup of tea!! So back to the friendly and convence SUBWAY!! I had a hot coffee for 1.29 pound that include a cookie that make me happy. See this is what I call good business! Unlike Rice Box. Had a good chat for hour or so, and I found mates to go oversea during the Christmas Break! Cheers! Oh! I also got a cold drink afterward, and it cost 99pence. It is cheap because it can be refill as much as you like! For people who don't know what's pence, 100 pence make a pound, which also mean cents to dollar in Singapore.
Overall, I had a great day and I decided to blog this with some random picture. Have fun! Cheers!

Very Interesting!!
Wednesday, 7 October 2009 15:20

Hello people! It is very late over here and I am very tired, however I have a very hilarious, thrilling and a bit of nerve taking event happened when I was on my way back after badminton that i wanted to share.

It was about 10.15pm over here when the fight occurred. I was wait for the bus and saw two causasisan talking to each other. As I was listening to my songs, I do not know what was the conservation. A guy surprised me by pushing extremely hardly on the other guy who fell on to the chair then to the ground of the bus stop. Let us make the aggressive guy to be Guy A and the victim to be Guy B. Guy B stayed on the ground and seem not be able to get up by himself. After a few second, Guy A went back to Guy B and drag him by his right leg for a meter or so. Guy B was left onto the floor and Guy A came close to me and mumbled something. I had already took off my ear piece, but only be able to understand a bit from him. He was saying something like,"why he wants to be like an English!? He weak cannot get up himself.."

I was definitely stunned to see this type of things happening. Not even in army we had this type of situation. At most friend friend fight, then just pull them off. Furthermore, I am now currently in UK studying, hence the last thing I would hope for was to be deported from this country. That Guy A seem to be drunk therefore I also did not have confident that I could subdue him. I decided to stay away from it untill that Guy B asked for help.

Now, I would let down my conscience if I still did not help him. Although I went to him and wanted to pull him up, he refused to get up on his feet. He explained that his right shoulder was delocated and too pain to get up. So, I left him on the floor and did not know what I should do next. The Guy A came to me and asked why were I helping him. He said he was a "police office" and wanted my detail. For no good reason, of course I did not give him my detail. All I had given him was my English name and my surname. He would not be able to get me through those information. Anyway, he also could not produce a I.D.

Then, the Guy B requested for me to call the police. I did not what to do initially, cause Guy A was beside me and I could not image what would happen if I call the police infront of me. For the next few minutes, Guy A was randomly stating some racist comments which I really could not remember now. Out of the blue, Guy A abruptly kicked Guy B on the groud. I was not fast enough to stop him from that blow. Anyway, a lady saw it and stared at the scene. I signalled to the lady for her to call the police and she showed that she understood me by taking her phone out. So I stay with the victim for a moment and the Guy A walked away with Guy A's umbrella. Guy A was howling when leaving but that was not the end of my story. The guy, I did not know what was seriously wrong with him came back and waved the umbrella at me. Of course I was caught by his action. On the other hand, I manage to remain calm and stood still and dared him bravely to hit me. The umbrella came infront of me but did not hit me, I was right and lucky I was.

Another point to slot inbetween! When Guy A left for the short period, I went back to Guy B and wanted to get him up of his feet first at least. He took out his hand phone and using his right hand, he managed to text! Incredible was not it! If you did not get what I meant, remember his right arm was claimed to be fractured? Was it a black magic!? I seriously doubted so. OH! I also missed my bus.

Okay back to the story, he continued with his shouting and he said something about being Chinese and he was an English. This remark was overheard by a couple at their late 20 I supposed. The man looks like a Chinese and Causasian mix blood and the lady was a pure English I presumed. Let's call them Peter and Mary. So they saw me in difficulties and came to assist me. I was really grateful for their assistant to me. Peter looks much strong build and me and he stood inbetween me and Guy A.

Afterward, Guy A change his warhead to Peter and sarcasticly questioned him if he was a english. Peter kept in silence. Guy A then make another unkind statement that Peter was not a English and was not okay. On the hand, Mary was English and she was okay. I did not actually know what he meant but obviously he was trying to be racist again. This time Peter broke from his patient and got into trance. Peter looked into Guy A eyes and pointed at him. Almost immediately, I got infront of Peter and pushed down his hand. Some ridiculous remarks again from Guy A and Peter got even more frustrated. It was easy to hold up Peter and all I think was the best was to make peace. I agreed to whatever bullshit Guy A was saying and apolognised to him.

Guy A changed mood very quickly. Suddenly, he was not aggressive any more. He was also sorry about what he had done. He ask for forgiveness from all of us and walked away claimly. So my tactic work? No matter what, it was a great news that he left for good. I retreated back away from them and continued listening to my music. Police came after server minutes and went off without questioning me. Maybe that was a better ending. However, I felt that I should have done more. Example, I should have retain that guy, went to aid Guy B earlier, call the cops sooner and maybe at least saying sorry to Guy B that I did not manage to help him much. I thought I should be sorry to Peter also to be humilated. Anyway, it is bygone. Next time i will have experience to handle it better. Cheers!

Today was a spendid day with a rocky start! The plan for the day was to go to a fruit farm for some harvest with Dominic (that Swiss homemate), follow by a pub visit for Sunday football.

I woke up early in the morning and got myself breakfast around 8.30am and went off for the farm at around 9.15am. My host was kind enough to drive us there. Upon arrival that the farm, we were only to be shocked to see it only open on Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm. With disappointment, we only get to the the front barrier of the farm. My host, was extraordinary kind to us, and suggest to drive us to a huge market that he always go for groceries. Of course with no other destination, we instantly agreed to that proposal.

On our way there, it was stretches after stretches of nice scenery of UK countryside. We also by pass a woman riding on a horse. I am so envious of her! Just regarded that I did not manage to take any nice picture there. Most probably my next visit there.

It was rather a long ride of beautiful scenery before reaching our destination. It was right next to Kassam Stadium, which is the base stadium for Oxford United. It was surprisingly huge for a football team in the lowest league in England. The market was actually what we call Flea Market in Singapore. Alot of second hand dealer rent a place to sell their things, and also some selling frozen meat and fruits. Actually the space they rent was carparking lot, and hence alot of the shops were also private car of the saleperson. The price of the items there are resonably cheap, and you can find most of the things there, but mostly antiques stuff. Cheap guitar were for sale, 20 pound! It was such a pity that I did not bring enough cash for that guitar, therefore I give it a miss. My host said to just look around, and he will be able to bring there again.

Follow by, I went back to my room and watched 2 epiosodes before heading to Ammodation, a pub at Crowley Road. Frustrated by the bus service! Okay, basicly, there are 2 bus service running throught my place, and Dominic only has the pass, consession in Singapore, for Oxford Bus Company. We waited for nearly 40 minutes for the bus with 3 other bus from Stagecoach, the other bus company, before us. There is a timetable of the arrival of the bus at the bus stop, and it is kinda deceiving us as it indicated that there will be bus for every 12 minutes. The most unbelievable and annoying part was 2 of the bus came together. Cheers for the bus!

Utter most, I reached the pub and did enjoy the matches between Arsenal and Blackburn and also Chelsea and Liverpool. Had a pint of Heineken with a packet of Doritos. Arsenal Won! Something to cheer about. :) I wish Liverpool had draw with Chelsea, and share one point each. Went back to home for dinner after the matches and waited with exasperation for the bus again. Ended up we took Stagecoach after 30 minutes after giving up hopes on Oxford Bus Company. My dear friend had to pay 1.80 pound for the ride, and the best part was Oxford Bus Company's bus was right behind! Cheers again!! OH! My friend asked me to also state that the Oxford Bus overtook the Stagecoach in the journey back. He was so morally demolished and emo in his room for 2 hours. (SARCASM) He was joking!

When we reach back home, we were actually late for dinner. However, we still manage to have it after the host heated up the meals. Sometime I just do not understand why he cannot prepare the meal later. It always make me wonder. Good meal and marvellous day it was after all! Maybe because Arsenal won 6-2!!

Have fun!
